World Youth and Children Choral Artists' Association
Founded in Hong Kong by internationally renowned choral expert Professor Leon Tong, the World Youth and Children Choral Artists’ Association (WYCCAA) connects young singers, conductors and choral leaders through major international festivals, competitions, workshops and cultural exchange programmes.
About World Youth and Children Choral Artists' Association
Building on the work of the Hong Kong Treble Choirs’ Association, established in 1997, WYCCAA provides a major international platform for youth and children’s choral music.
Committed to bringing the world closer through high-quality choral music and events, WYCCAA has developed a strong track record in presenting large-scale international choir festivals and summit-style gatherings. Its programmes bring together world-class performances, premieres, competitions, masterclasses, workshops, conventions and cultural exchanges, creating opportunities for choirs, conductors and young artists from across the world to learn, perform and connect.
Past projects include the 2025 World Choir Festival, the 2024 World Youth & Children’s Choir Festival cum 1st Greater Bay Area Choir Festival, online editions of the World Choir Festival in 2021, 2022 and 2023, the World Choral Conducting Competition in 2019, the Belt & Road World Choir Festival in 2018, and editions of the World Youth & Children’s Choir Festival in 2015, 2017 and 2019. Earlier initiatives include the Hong Kong International Youth & Children’s Choir Festival, The World Sings for Olympics & World Youth Choir Concerts, the World Children’s Choir Festival & Songbridge Programme, and the China International Children’s Choir Festival & World Symposium on Children’s Choral Music.
Over the years, WYCCAA has built and maintained connections with more than 1,000 choirs and numerous choral experts from over 50 countries and regions. Its collaborators have included The King’s Singers, Club for Five, Jackie Chan, Harry Wong, Ivana Wong, Richard Filz, Utopia & Reality Chamber Choir, Stellenbosch University Chamber Choir, Sofia Vokalensemble, Salt Lake Vocal Artists, Vesna Children’s Choir, Hamilton Children’s Choir, choirs from the Cantemus Choral Institute and many others.
Since 2013, WYCCAA has presented Lifetime Achievement Awards for Choral Music at each festival, recognising distinguished figures who have made outstanding contributions to the choral field. The Association also regularly invites international maestros to lead charity workshops in Hong Kong and Mainland China.
