Three cathedral schools form new partnership group
Hereford Cathedral School, King’s Gloucester and King’s Worcester have launched the Three Choirs Schools Group, a collaboration designed to expand opportunities for pupils and support staff development while preserving each school’s independence.
The Three Choirs Schools Group will focus on educational collaboration, professional development and operational efficiencies across the three schools, which together educate more than 2,600 pupils and have a combined history spanning more than two millennia.
Each school will remain fully independent, with no changes to governance, leadership or day-to-day school life. The group has been described as a values-led partnership rather than a commercial venture, with each school retaining its own identity and ethos.
Pupils are expected to benefit from shared enrichment activities and wider opportunities to connect with peers across the three schools. Staff will also work together through subject networks, shared training, curriculum development, cross-school moderation and joint professional development.
The partnership reflects the schools’ shared cathedral heritage and strong musical traditions, while aiming to support academic ambition, character development and pastoral care across the group.
