Chórtownia campaign highlights role of singing in supporting mental health
Chórtownia, a Poland-based choral platform and foundation, has published a summary of its 2025 'MUSIC – Support for People with Depression' campaign, which brought together 37 choirs and vocal ensembles for 40 events across Poland and internationally.
Held in October 2025, the campaign included concerts, workshops, open rehearsals and liturgical performances, with activity taking place in 27 cities in Poland, Germany, Italy, France, Austria and the USA, as well as online. Around 1,800 people took part overall.
Alongside coordinating the wider initiative, the Chórtownia Foundation organised three events of its own in Sosnowiec, Gliwice and Ruda Śląska, combining vocal workshops with conversations about emotions and mental health. According to the foundation, more than 90% of participants reported an improvement in wellbeing.
A full summary of the campaign is available via Chórtownia, including choir reports, social media materials, a podcast and a film from the Ruda Śląska workshops.
