The Glasshouse appoints Fraser Anderson as Chief Executive
The Glasshouse International Centre for Music has appointed Fraser Anderson as its permanent Chief Executive with immediate effect, following a recruitment process that followed his six-month period as Interim Chief Executive.
Anderson succeeds Abigail Pogson, who left the organisation in late 2025 to join the Barbican Centre in London. He has worked at The Glasshouse since 2020, later becoming Deputy CEO, and has played a key role in shaping the organisation’s strategy, programmes and community impact across the North East of England.
Andy Haldane, Chair of The Glasshouse, said, ‘Fraser has demonstrated exceptional leadership during his time as Interim CEO. He combines a deep understanding of The Glasshouse with a clear vision for its future, and the panel was unanimous in its decision to appoint him permanently.’

His appointment comes as The Glasshouse builds on the momentum of its 21st anniversary and develops its next phase of activity, including live events, festivals, residencies, music education and expanded opportunities for young people and emerging artists.
