Country Choral Mixed Programme Weekend

Renaissance and Baroque works by John Farmer and Henry Purcell sit alongside later repertoire by Charles Wood and Gerald Finzi, with contemporary perspectives from Eric Whitacre and Sarah Rimkus. The programme also includes George Shearing’s Lullaby of Birdland, bringing a contrasting rhythmic and stylistic approach.
The weekend focuses on ensemble skills across contrasting musical languages: clarity of text, balance between parts, tuning, rhythmic coordination, and stylistic flexibility. Working in small to medium mixed-voice groups, singers will explore how different composers treat similar themes in very different musical ways.
