Music Mark names Jennifer McKie as next Chief Executive Officer
McKie will join the UK Association for Music Education in August after 13 years leading Lincolnshire Music Service.
Jennifer McKie has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Music Mark, the UK Association for Music Education, and will take up the role in August.
McKie joins from Lincolnshire Music Service, where she has served as head of service for 13 years. The service is the lead organisation for the Lincolnshire Music Hub.
She brings more than 25 years’ experience across teaching, music service leadership and cultural governance, including work as a musician and educator, as a Clore Fellow and as a member of the Arts Council Midlands Area Council.
Music Mark said McKie will join the team as it prepares for its 2026 Annual Conference in Liverpool, giving her an early platform to address members and the wider music education sector.

Peter Smalley, Chair of Trustees at Music Mark, said McKie brings ‘a wealth of experience within our sector as a Head of Music Service, musician and educator’, alongside ‘key leadership skills as a Clore Fellow’.
He added that her experience on the Arts Council Midlands Area Council would be ‘invaluable in the forthcoming months, with change on the horizon for the English Music Services’.
